Wandering Daisy, like most things, started as a dream several years ago - 10 if you’d like to get technical.

I had used a bonus paycheck to purchase my first digital mirrorless camera, a Fuji X-T10, after much encouragement from my husband. The day it arrived I couldn’t keep my hands off of it and quickly came to realize that I was intimidated by all the features; I'd never owned a camera like it. So I enrolled in a small introductory photography class to learn the basics of ISO, Shutter speeds, lighting and composition.

I managed to take pictures of everything as I was starting out, but was repeatedly drawn to nature and landscapes. Hiking with my camera became a passion. My hobby blossomed and I soon turned to thoughts of possibly starting a business. My current logo design partially came from those days, even though I wasn’t able to get a business off the ground back then. Life had other plans for me; photography took a backseat.

Fast forward to now - I’ve got an upgrade in my camera, a Fuji X-T5, and I'm once again intimidated by the features, although a bit more comfortable with using it because of the prior gear. I have a little more time on my hands and want to breathe life back into my creativity. I’ve been putting together a business plan, pouring through photos, rebranding my photography image, and creating the dream that I couldn’t years ago. It has been daunting as much as it has been exciting to bring together the pieces and discover how much more can be built upon what I already have.

As I work to get this page updated and running, please be patient with me. I’ll have my pieces up for sale soon, and will offer portrait sessions on an introductory basis while I begin to build the portfolio for that side of the business. In the meantime, enjoy my blog about this journey and my projects going forward. I hope you’ll wander through this part of my dream with me and help me build a successful business.
